A true #OneSuffern celebration took place at Suffern High School as our middle and high schools came together for Multicultural Night, a vibrant evening honoring the rich diversity within our school community!
hird graders have a big decision to make for next year: what instrument to play as fourth graders! And here to guide them through the process are Suffern’s stellar music teachers, who spent the day at Cherry Lane and Montebello organizing the first ever Musical Petting Zoo during school hours.
April 2 is World Autism Awareness Day, a United Nations-sanctioned day that aims to increase awareness and understanding of people with autism.
Montebello Elementary added a local focus by inviting Michelle Brier, the co-founder and CEO of Blue Path Service Dogs, a non-profit that places and trains service dogs with families who have children with autism. (She's also Mrs. Butler's sister!)
Fifth graders in Mrs. Levine and Mrs. Carrera's classes are are finishing up their social studies unit on countries located in the Western Hemisphere. One of the lessons, called "The Real Cost of Bananas," delves into the practices of importing and exporting, fair trade and supporting farmers and their communities.
